Happy New Year and Welcome Back! I hope that over your winter break you were all able to relax and have fun! While the hopes of brighter days are ahead and there is lots of talk about returning to school at some point, right now we are operating under business as usual. It is my greatest hope to be able to safely bring back students and staff to school this year. As information is available and decisions are made everything will be communicated to you from our Superintendent through our normal communication channels.
I'm sure you would agree that our teachers have been amazing these past few months! I understand that distance learning is not ideal, however, I have witnessed high levels of teaching and learning everyday! Our teachers, staff, students and parents have had to learn so much, adapt to so many changes and have managed to create classroom experiences as close to normal as possible. I am so proud to be a part of this amazing Parkmont Community.
Finally, after this week's unbelievable events, your children may have many questions. The teachers recognize the need for students to have a space to process their questions and feelings. Teachers are having and will continue to have conversations that are appropriate with our students in order to help make these traumatic events understandable. It is our job as educators to empower our students to create a better world and be the voice for a change in America.
Continue to take good care of yourselves and others.
Ms. Johanna Cho
