Here we are, we made it! Well, we still have 7 more days of school, but summer is within reach! I hope this summer everyone has time to really unplug! This summer break should look and feel so very different from last year! I hope you can see your loved ones, get outside, maybe take a vacation even! Report cards will be available to you on Monday, June 14th in your Illuminate Parent Portal. Please do not email your child's teacher for a copy, they will be on summer vacation.
As we look ahead to next fall, I am not alone in feeling excited about bringing students and staff back to campus for a full in person return! There have been many questions about what school will look like next year. It is my greatest hope that school will look very similar to pre-pandemic times! As I receive more information, I will continue to update our families on any procedures, guidelines, etc.
I have listed some important August dates for your planning purposes. With the earlier first day of school on August 18th, things will start to get busy much earlier than we are used to.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish our 6th grade students all the best as they move on to Centerville Junior High. 6th graders, YOU have endured this year better than I could have imagined. When you finally step foot onto your new campus next year, you should feel proud of the way you adapted, persevered and grew from this very different final year of elementary school. You didn't get to enjoy all of the milestone achievements that normally happen for 6th graders, so that must mean only one thing: THE BEST IS YET TO COME! It has been an honor to serve as your principal, seeing so many of you grow up right before my eyes into fine young people, makes me so proud to call you my students. I wish you all the best and do hope you will come back to visit!
All my best,
Ms. Johanna Cho
Principal
