We've had a lot of changes to our schedule lately. Sometimes we have strong feelings when we experience change. Listen to the Motivational Message from Mrs. Collins

Then listen to a book about our strong feelings.

Tuesday, October 13th - Read Aloud Tuesday

Listen to the story below about a boy who keeps saying things that embarrass others. He feels embarrassed when he says something inappropriate. Think about how he feels. Imagine how the other people feel when he says something without thinking.

What can you do when you feel embarrassed?

Read Dealin' with Feelin' Embarrassed (3 - 4) or listen to the Video (K - 2) for some coping strategies when you feel embarrassed.

Now let's do some activities that help us to think about where we feel our strong feeling in our body and what makes us feel embarrassed. Pick one of the pages to do. No printer? No problem. Tell an adult your answers.

What is the difference between feeling worried or nervous and feeling anxious? What about when people say they have anxiety? Is it the same feeling? Sometimes we have a little worry or something makes us nervous for a short time, but when our worries start to interrupt our day and keep us from doing things we enjoy, or they start to spread into other parts of our lives, we might be experiencing anxiety.

Then choose an activity that helps you to learn how to deal with your worries

  • "Stick it to Your Worries" Worry Activity 3

  • "Worry Monster" Worry Activity 4 (You can make your own worry monster).
