Mindfulness Thursday
Yesterday, we learned about starting conversations. Today, we will think about staying on topic during conversations, and ending conversations.
1) First, find your grade level and complete the activities:
K-3: Watch the What Comes Next Video.
2-4: First, review the Staying on Topic Sheet. Then, watch the Making Conversation Video. You can find the Making Conversation Worksheet here.
2) Then, all grades can complete the Ending a Conversation worksheet. If you do not have a printer, you can think about which ones are the best statements!
3) End today's lesson with this quick Mindful Minute Video.
Enjoy the snow today!!
Knowing how to start a conversation can help us to make new friends and meet new people!
1) First, listen to these two videos about ways to start a conversation:
2) Then, try out one of the conversation starters or friendly greeters above to practice starting a conversation with a family member or friend (or you can even practice on a pet or stuffed animal!)

Read Aloud Tuesday
Last week in Counselor Corner, we started learning about building friendships. This week, we are going to learn about one important part of building friendships: communication skills.
1) First, listen to this story: Lacy Walker, NonStop Talker!
Reflect: what did Lacy learn when she could not talk for a day? How did this help her become a better friend and a better listener?
2) Then, watch this video about Whole Body Listening.
