Fashion photographers work with designers and models to produce pictures used in the fashion industry. Job duties include conducting pre-shoot consultations with designers, directing photo shoots, and editing photos. During a shoot, a fashion photographer will set the lighting, pose fashion models, and take photographs from a variety of angles.
The job outlook for photographers is expected to grow 8.9% through 2031, which is faster than average for all occupations.
You do not need a degree to work as a fashion photographer. However, certificate, associate's, bachelor's and master's programs in photography are available.
