These can include advertising sports events/games, usually for a specific team, and this can be done via social media, television, and more. They can also create marketing campaigns that increase revenue for sports teams. Finally, they control publicity for the team.
Demand for sports marketing jobs have been increasing in the last few years.The BLS projects job growth in the field of 7% between 2019 and 2029, faster than the projected rate for the labor market as a whole. Positions may vary depending on how popular the sports agency/team you are working for is.
To get an entry level position, you need to have a college degree and a bachelors in marketing,advertising,communications, or business. However, a bachelors in sports marketing is preferred. Usually some work experience/internship in the field is also preferred.
