Film/TV directors are responsible for what we see on screen. The actors are what you see, but their words, actions, and surroundings are from the ideas of the director. The director creates the script, hires the actors, directs the actors, and works with the editors to ensure their vision is what the audience sees. Whether or not a movie can be good or bad starts with the director.
