Conceptual designers create the framework for ideas and plan how the product will be expressed visually. These designers are responsible for creating concept art. Concept art can be used to create ideas for characters or settings in video games or movies as well as for creating products. It is the job of the conceptual designer to create an engaging product that appeals to the viewer. In many cases, you will take an idea from a client and make it into reality.

Salary: The average salary for a conceptual designer is $135,414. The range of salaries is $52,753 to $218,075.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for concept artists, multimedia artists and animators is a growth of 4% from now until 2029. This is around average for all jobs in the United States. This growth is anticipated to be due to an increased demand for visual effects and animation in various mediums include movies, TV and video games

Educational Requirements:

The education needed to be a concept artist is normally a bachelor's degree. Concept artists usually study graphic design, animation or fine arts. 75% of concept artists hold a bachelor's degree and 13% hold an associate degree. In some cases, a degree is not required, but highly recommended. It is very important that you have a strong portfolio to enter this career.
