The main party Law and Justice is opposing the ideas of the political opposition which is in charge in local governments. The leading political group can refuse the policies proposed by the rest of the parties, sometimes even if their ideas are more sustainable. Despite having lost recent local elections, the Law and Justice still have political majority in Polish government which makes them quite influential. They have their representatives everywhere, sharing and even sometimes implementing their controversial policies and ideas.
As the Law and Justice is the main ruling party in the Polish government, it has the power to pass or veto certain plans and legislatures. Hence, the policies proposed by the opposition may be simply declined by PiS, making it impossible for not main party members to change the decisions and actions undertaken by our government.
However, the situation in local governments is very promising since the elections held last fall, when Law and Justice lost their power in many significant Polish cities. The coalitions within the opposition are working to increase the use of green energy in our country and reach the renewable energy Directive of the EU by 2020.
The Energy Policy Plan which include for example:
Addendum to the National Renewable Energy Action Plan of 2 December 2011
Moreover:
Poland is still a developing country divided by the spheres of influence of the national party and their policies.
However, our counties all want to meet the Renewable Energy Target for 2020 and are cooperating with each other through different agreements like the Paris Climate Agreement from 2016. They are also working together during different UN climate conferences and meetings.
The opposition of the Polish government agrees with the policies of reducing pollution and try to work with other countries' governments to reach the common goal.
