Sources of Financing

Sources of financing

The aforementioned proposals obviously require particularly massive financial resources. Therefore, as a potential solution to the problem, the formation of national funds is recommended. Those funds, operated by governmental bodies and overseen by the European Union, shall provide funds for investments in energy transition.

Energy entrepreneurships contribution

Energy entrepreneurships shall be forced to contribute directly to the fund. The system could be compared to a Polish jurisdiction which compels energy comapanies to support investments in renewable energy sources. Nevertheless, centralised national funds are believed to function more effectively. Assertions shall be formed, that electricity price shall increase for neither households nor other companies.

Electricity bill fee

In Germany households possess an option to volunarily support the energy transition via a sumplementary fee. An comparable, however compulsory fee, equal to 5% of the value of an electricity bill shall be imposed on every individual household. Renewable energy shall be an exemption from the fee. The countries whose jurisdictions already includes the aforementioned regulations shall review their policies.

Taxes on fossil fuels

An extra tax on conventional energy sources ( i.e. fossil fuels ) shall be established. A country shall be able to adjust the tax to the possibilities of hers, albeit the minimum value of the tax shall equal 5% of the price of specific fossil fuel. The taxation shall function besides present taxes.

Taxes on diesel and petrol vehicles

An additional tax on the acquisition of diesel and petrol vehicles shall be established, equal to 10% and 5% of the value of the aforementioned vehicles. The utilisation of the vehicles shall be a subject of taxation as well and its amount shall be based on the type, emission patterns etc. of a vehicle. The utilisation tax shall be adjusted to the requirements of an individual country. Should the law of a country be already characterised by the tax, her policies shall be reviewed.
