The stations are usually intended to power hydrogen vehicles, but also can be used to power small devices.

The service stations that offer hydrogen have opened around the world.
According to Joseph Romm in 2004, replacing these would cost half a billion dollars. The cost of the necessary European-level infrastructure could be five times less than the cost of the charging network required for hybrid vehicles with battery and plug-in. When viewed as the cost per station, EV stations are cheaper than the $ 3 million per hydrogen station.
