Pupil Premium and Free School Meals

If you are entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) there are other means of support that you can tap into. Once you are in receipt of benefits related FSM, the school will receive additional funding known as Pupil Premium to help and support you through your child's education. Pupil Premium funding is granted to state schools to improve the academic and personal outcomes of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. Pupils eligible for pupil premium funding are:

Those eligible for free school meals (FSM), or have been eligible in the past 6 years 

Those who have been adopted from care or have left care.

Those who are looked after by the local authority.

Those whose parents are in the armed forces or whose parents have retired on an armed forces pension

If you are on Income Support or Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, please return the pupil premium form at the beginning of each school year, since if you are entitled to this provision, it is very helpful to the school and to the children concerned.
