Teachers will conduct regular and continuous assessment for learning in all areas of the curriculum. This formative assessment will support their planning so that children’s learning needs are identified and included in their planning.
Each pupil's work will be monitored to ensure progress is as expected. The school's emphasis on language acquisition and scientific knowledge, means expectations in these areas will be as ambitious as those for numeracy and literacy.
Parents will receive formal reports on their child’s progress at the end of the school year. During the year, a short meeting with the teachers will be offered on two occasions.
During their Primary years, children will be statutorily assessed at various points:
Beginning of Reception (Reception Baseline Assessment)
End of Reception (EYFS Profile)
June of Year 1 (Phonics Check) - This check can be retaken at the end of Year 2.
June of Year 4 (Timetables Check)
May of Year 6 (KS2 SATS)
