Term 3 Week 8
Learning Intention:
Students will aim to create an Australian animal picture which will be used to make a storage container for pencils, textas etc
Success Criteria:
I can : draw an Australian animal on paper
I can: attach this picture around a cylinder
Making and Creating steps
· Place your tin can that you collected last week and make sure it is washed, dried and the label is removed (ask Mum or Dad for help to do this if you need to)
· Ask Mum or Dad to help you measure a piece of white paper so that it fits around the can, leaving a small extra flap which will let you join the paper when you wrap it around the can
· Think about which Australian animal you would like to draw (kangaroo, koala, cockatoo, platypus, echidna, wombat etc)
· Draw the animal on the paper and colour
· Wrap the picture around the can and glue or tape so that it is secure. Add more features to your picture if you like (eg feathers)
· Use you can to store pencils, textas or whatever you like!
Materials
· Tin can from last week
· Paper that is cut to size and can be wrapped around the can (with a bit left over for joining) Ask an adult to help you with this bit
· Coloured pencils or textas
· Scissors
· Glue or tape
