Art - Foundation Week 6 Making and creating ink blob insects and monsters
Ink Blob Challenge
Term 3 Week 6
Learning Intention:
1st activity: Students will aim to watch the science experiment with food dye, milk and dishwashing detergent and then aim to try it themselves.
2nd activity: Students will aim to blow some food dye around a page to create some small and simple blob shapes.
Students will need some food dye and a straw. The primary colours, Red, blue and yellow would be perfect. Students are to place a small blob of food dye on the page and gently blow it from left to right and turn the page around to go upside down.
Mix yellow and blue to get green, blue and red to get purple and red and yellow to get orange.
Let the ink blobs dry for an hour and then go back and draw some eyes, feet, arms and facial features on them. You can turn them into anything you like. People, monsters, insects, animals etc.
Success Criteria:
I can cut blow an ink blob.
I can help create a science/art experiment.
I can create a person or insect from these blobs.
