Learning Intention:
Students will aim to create a colour wheel which they can use to describe the weather each day during Remote Learning.
Success Criteria:
I can: rule lines
I can: identify primary and secondary colours
I can: identify different weather types and symbols to be used to represent these
Materials
· Paper plate or circle cut from recycled cardboard box or paper
· Coloured paper
· Scissors
· Glue sticks
· Split pin (if you have one) or blu tack can be used if you don’t have a split pin
Making and Creating steps
· You will use a paper plate for this activity. If you don’t have one, trace around a large circle onto a cardboard cereal box or a piece of paper, and cut it out.
· You may need a parent to help you with this step. Rule a line through the middle of the circle then rule two lines into each half so that you have six sections altogether.
· You will now either colour each section in or glue coloured paper into each section. The sections will be in primary colours (red, blue and yellow) and secondary colours (orange, green and purple)
· On a separate piece of paper draw symbols for different types of weather (a sun, rain, snow etc).
· Cut the symbols out and glue them onto any section of the colour wheel that you like. Have a different symbol in each section.
· Cut out an arrow shape from recycled cardboard (cereal box) and use a split pin or blu tack to fasten this in the centre of the circle.
· Use the arrow to show today’s weather. You can do this each morning and you can change the arrow as the weather changes during the day.
