WHAT IS THE

AUTOMOTIVE PROGRAM

The Automotive program provides students with the knowledge and hands-on experience required to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles. The program typically covers topics such as engine performance, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical systems, and HVAC. Students also receive training in using automotive diagnostic tools and equipment, such as scan tools and oscilloscopes, to identify and fix issues in vehicles. Upon completion of the program, students may pursue careers as automotive technicians, mechanics, or service managers in automotive dealerships, repair shops, and other automotive service centers.

SALARY RANGE:  $15.00-$60.00 Per Hour

CAREER OPTIONS AVAILABLE: Automotive Technician, Master Automotive Technician, Service Technician, and Automotive Mechanic.

CREDENTIALS EARNED

ASE Certification

ASE Certified technicians are highly skilled automotive professionals who have demonstrated proficiency in their field by passing one or more exams offered by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).

BRCC Dual Enrollment

Baton Rouge Community College allows high school students to take college-level courses while still in high school, earning both high school and college credit.
