We had yet another fantastic week in Grade 4! It was wonderful to see so many of you during ACE time. The meaningful interactions between parents and students highlighted the spirit of learning. It was inspiring to see students demonstrating their communication skills through their notebook reflections.
A special thank you to everyone who participated in the Pink Walk and Bake Sale, helping raise awareness about breast cancer—it was heartwarming to see our community come together for such an important cause. We are also wrapping up the unit with so many engaging activities, where students are preparing a toolkit to solve conflicts and apply their learning in meaningful ways.
We wish everyone a wonderful and relaxing term break!

In Math, students continued practising addition and subtraction through a variety of sums and word problems, applying different strategies learned in class. They focused on refining their problem-solving skills and showed noticeable growth in both accuracy and confidence. We concluded the unit with an assessment, giving students the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the key concepts covered.
Next week, we are going to learn about multiplicative comparison, where we compare quantities by multiplying one value by another.
This week in literacy, Grade 4 students showcased their ability to write and present informative speeches on topics such as the United Nations, resolving conflicts, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and other organisations that promote peace. They applied features learned in class—including structure, clarity, and the use of supporting details—to craft well-organised information writing and speeches. After editing their work, students confidently presented their work to their classmates, demonstrating effective communication and critical thinking skills. Their work reflected both creativity and a deep understanding of these important global issues.
Next week, students will explore the key features of narrative writing as they learn to create engaging stories that capture the reader’s imagination.
This week in Sceince, we wrapped up our concepts with a fun 100 Square Quiz challenge. The activity encouraged discussion and reasoning, with students collaborating to answer questions and share their insights on patterns in Earth’s features.
Next week, students will explore how animals receive information through their senses, process it in their brains, and respond in different ways.
