Theoretical
This programme looks at art as a key for the interpretation of contemporary phenomena: languages, contexts and scopes of art, the manipulation and consumption of images from the early stages of the industrial era to the technology and communication media development that characterize the contemporary scenario.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 8 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Familiarize with the avant-gardes and place them in the modern era scenario
Decode the language of modern art
Put the 20th century artistic currents into context
Rising of modernity and analysis of the historic avant-gardes
Understanding the socio-political context
Analysis of the historic-chronological configurations
Study of the debates and conflicts of the 20th Century
The current scenario of artistic research
Expressions and contaminations among visual arts, architecture, design, advertisement images, multimedia, and its intense, most original and contemporary communication potential
The programme focuses on theoretical courses.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the different topics:
Classroom lectures
Debates, presentations, peer assessment

Individual study and research

The final grade will result from the weighted average of the programme modules.
