APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This teaching aims at providing basic theoretical and practical knowledge of the professional competencies in the conception and creation of audio-visual projects, also through personal analysis to guide the students towards the shaping of their own poetics. Throughout the film analysis workshop, the students view, discuss and analyse relevant work in the film production, with a focus on narrative experimentation and seminal stylistic avant-gardes of contemporary cinema.
The programme grants 8 credits, divided as follows:

Successful students will be able to:

Understand the relation between theme and narration
Critically analyse a film work, also in relation to the historical context that it comes from, as well as the future context that it will influence
DIRECTION 1:
Conceive and create an authorial audio-visual product
Convey personal ideas within a small cinema set
Coordinate a small production team
Present and support personal artistic choices

This is a theoretical/project based course.
The students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Submission of papers, projects or research work
Written exam

The final grade will result from the weighted average of the programme modules.
