Theoretical/project based
This course provides theoretical-practical skills to understand the most relevant aspects of the animation language evolution. The different animation languages will be covered in depth, with research and application of the most meaningful techniques and procedures aimed at creating an animation movie: stop-motion film, 2D digital animation and 3D animated objects.
The programme grants 8 credits, divided as follows:
ANIMATION STUDIES 1: 4 CFA
ADVANCED ANIMATION TECHNIQUES: 4 CFA
Successful students will be able to:
Understand and compose animation styles and languages
Create their own animation project
Apply methods for the creation of their own project
Acquire advanced skills in 2D and 3D animation techniques
ANIMATION STUDIES 1:
Analysis of animation works
Crucial phases of animation cinema
Practices and languages of animation
ADVANCED ANIMATION TECHNIQUES:
Live action and animation integration
Stop-motion techniques
2D characters and objects animation
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Completion of comprehensive projects
Graded exercises with a final oral exam
Further details about the exams will be provided by the professors.
The final grade will result from the weighted average of the programme modules.
