APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course aims at enhancing the necessary skills to conceive and carry out animation projects, guiding the students into the research of their personal poetics. Through the analysis of case histories in the contemporary production, the students create consistent projects in terms of dramaturgy, stylistic research, and direction. On the 3D animation module the students acquire technical skills to animate 3D models, going through the phases of rigging, lighting, and rendering.
The programme grants 6 credits, divided as follows:
3D ANIMATION: 3 CFA
ANIMATION DIRECTING: 3 CFA
Successful students will be able to:
Create 3D animations from existing models
Understand 3D animation workflows and pipelines
Carry out a critical analysis of contemporary productions
Conceive and pre-visualise animation authorial projects
Create a scene for an animation short-film

Concept design
This is a theoretical/project based course.
