APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course provides theoretical competencies for the reading and analysis of static images, together with fundamental information about the use of the image
editing and basic animation software programmes. The Compositing module provides knowledge and skills in graphic image composition exploring the main techniques of manipulation and correlation of synthesis images for the production of multilayer audio-visual products. The second module, Animation principles, aims to develop skills in first animation productions, focusing on animation style, production methods and technical work-flow.
The programme grants 6 credits, divided as follows:
COMPOSITING: 3 CFA
ANIMATION PRINCIPLES: 3 CFA
Successful students will be able to:
Understand and use different expressive techniques
Mindfully manage graphic, composition, style and narration elements of drawing
Be self-sufficient in the use of software
Combine different visual elements in one image
Realise short animation video production
COMPOSITING:

This is a theoretical/project based course.
The students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Papers and oral discussions
Further details about the exams will be provided by the professors.
The final grade will result from the weighted average of the programme modules.
The exam consists in the revision of the students’ projects. If needed, the students are free to use the technical manuals of their choice.
Books and resources might be requested or suggested by the professors.
