APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course provides advanced artistic and technical competencies in the creation of 3D characters for animation and videogame productions. With the use of a 3D animation and digital painting softwares, the students work on advanced characters modelling and on the creation of functional assets to the animation and game production pipeline.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Design 3D characters
Create high-quality 3D models, in terms of artistic and technical value
Create the necessary assets to integrate 3D characters in specific production contexts
Character design
Human anatomy
Digital sculpting
Texturing and modelling
Lighting techniques for 3D environments
Rendering
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Graded exercises with a final oral exam
Practical exams
