APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course focuses on the use of screenwriting techniques with the in-depth analysis of series and of the main narrative cinematographic works. It guides the students from the research phase to the final scriptwriting of a feature film or of a series “bible”, which is fundamental to analyse narrative works devised for cinema or television. The goal is also to provide the students with professional methods and with the ability to work in creative writing teams.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 credits.
Successful students will be able to:
Write a feature film screenplay or a series format
Apply a professional method in writing for cinema and tv series
Work in a creative team of writers
Screenplay analysis
TV and web series analysis
Concept design
Advanced writing techniques
Feature film writing
Writing of a series subject and a series format
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Graded exercises with a final oral exam
Practical exams
