APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This teaching introduces the students to the conception and creation of multimedia works characterized by non-linear development, where the crucial role is played by the decision-making processes of the users. On the course, the students will learn the guidelines for the construction and development of characters and scenarios that evolve depending on their hosting media.
The programme grants 6 credits, divided as follows:
INTERACTIVE STORYTELLING FOR VIDEO-GAMES: 3 CFA
TRANSMEDIA STORYTELLING: 3 CFA
Successful students will be able to:
Identify the main techniques and uses in the design of non-linear products
Carry out a critical analysis of existing projects
Manage transmedia projects through the different audiences and media
Confidently use the different media involved in order to devise a project and subsequently implement it
INTERACTIVE STORYTELLING FOR VIDEO-GAMES:
Interactive storytelling
Elements of narration
Conflicts and choices
Creation of characters
Story arc and relational network
TRANSMEDIA STORYTELLING:
Creation of a fictional universe
Transmedia universes
Audience engagement
Format adaptation
This is a theoretical/project based course.
Students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
Individual or group study and research
Assessment tools may include:
Graded exercises
Completion of a project
Oral exam

The final grade will result from the weighted average of the programme modules.
