APPROACH
Theoretical/project based
This course is oriented towards general learning, to prepare the students to audio-visual languages in the different production phases of 2D digital animation and 3D modelling. Starting from traditional drawing techniques to specific state of the art. The course aims at providing technical and methodological skills for the modelling of virtual 3D models and simple characters.
The programme consists of one single module, which grants 6 credits.
2D ANIMATION TECHNIQUES: 4 CFA
3D MODELLING: 4 CFA
Successful students will be able to:
Create storyboards for animated videos
Create simple 2D animations using different techniques
Successfully use the main 3D modelling software programmes
Create high-quality 3D models
2D ANIMATION TECHNIQUES:
2D Digital animation techniques
2D Traditional animation techniques
Storyboard basics
Drawing
Layout and lighting 2D
2D Rigging
Professional software for 2D digital animation
3D MODELLING:
Use of software for 3D modelling
Procedures for the creation of basic models
Creation of a concept to be modelled
Rendering
Lighting
This is a theoretical/project based course.
The students will take part in the following activities, which may vary depending on the development of different projects:
Classroom lectures
Use of tutorials, videos or other media tools
Exercises and revisions
Workshops
Individual or group projects
