Swag + Theresa Fesinstine
Exciting news! Theresa Fesinstine, Norwalk and Book Club chapter lead, has joined the Culture Amp team as a temporary contractor through the end of the year to help us get swag out to you all! If she reaches out for your details (i.e. address, sizes, etc.) it's legit. Share your info! LOL
So grateful she is going to help out with such a cumbersome and yet super important project!
Culture First Vetted Workshops
Process for New Workshops
We have a strong interest from many community members who want to be one of our approved Culture First Workshops. We haven’t had a thoughtful strategy or process, but now we do! We now only going to bring on a handful of workshops every quarter. Folks will apply to be one of our approved workshop and a small group of leads will vote on the ones we take on. The decision making factors will include things like topics being covered and global representation with facilitators from various regions around the world.
Here is the link to apply
Reviewing Existing Workshops
Since we are bringing on new workshops, we want to make sure our older workshops are staying relevant. We want to ensure the facilitators for our workshops stay at the top of their game and are continuing to provide the community with value. We have created a post workshop feedback form we'd love for you to start sending out after your events. These will be reviewed by select chapter leads as well on a quarterly basis.
Here is the link to the post workshop feedback form
New Q4 Approved Workshops
Here are two new workshops that have been vetted and are now approved to be recurring workshops! Check 'em out!
Chinese Calligraphy + Connection Workshop with Jing Wang Herman

Belonging Badge Bonanza!
We now have Belonging Badges which are Culture First branded for you to print and use at your in-person events!
What are belonging badges?
They are pins that are worn at events to share aspects of our identities that aren't apparent through phsycial appearance. These are a Culture Amp staple and are used to create environments of inclusion, belonging and intimate connection.
Here is the link to learn more about how to access these designs and get these printed.
And here is the link to a facilitation guide for Belonging Badge Bingo to go along!
Post Culture First Global Follow Up Events
Culture First Global Follow-Up:
The Culture First Global virtual conference, taking place on November 1st / 2nd, is a fantastic opportunity to gather and reflect as a community. Encourage your chapter members to watch the conference virtually and then host a follow-up session to discuss key takeaways and practical applications. Here is an example. Kansas City is hosting a follow-up with a community breakfast.
Facilitation Gameplan:
Follow-up sessions can be hosted both in-person or virtually. Here is a simple 45 - 60 min agenda to follow and to facilitate these sessions, making it even more hassle-free for you!
Welcome (5 min): Share the purpose of the gathering and community principles.
Connect (10 - 15 min): Timed group introductions and sharing of resonating insights.
Work (20 - 30 min): Group discussion about success stories or challenges in applying learnings.
Action (5 min): Reflect on next steps.
Close (2 min): One word or one sentence checkout.
Let's harness the power of collective reflection and learning to ensure the continual growth and enrichment of our community. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of learning, connection, and action. We are here to support you in every step of this journey. Feel free to reach out for any assistance or additional information.
Focus on Event Returners and Not Overall Registrants!
We have grown so much as a community! Can you believe we have over 100 chapters and over 11k community members just part of our chapters program?! The focus now as a community is on quality of relationships rather than the quantity of registrants.
This engagement metric is our success metric moving forward as a community. That said, focus on getting people to return to your events. Some tips for doing that:
First, remember to check people in to your events! It can be easy to forget to do this especially for your in-person events. Bevy has created an Organizer App you can download on your phone! Here are instructions on how to download and use the Bevy Organizer App.
Create a calendar line up for events or at least have another event planned following the event you are about to run so people have something to look forward to.
Stay in regular contact with your members! Send personalized outreach whether that is to them directly via email, LinkedIn message or even a text! Tell them you miss them and are looking forward to seeing them at your next gathering!
Case Study in Transitioning Out in a Culture First Way!
We have three asks to co-leading a Culture First Chapter!
1. Read our principles and purpose at every gathering and embody those principles!
2. Host 4 gatherings per year (at minimum).
3. Leave the chapter better than when you found it and transition out in a 'Culture First' way!
I wanted to share a case study in what this third ask looks like with the Orlando Chapter. Earlier this year, we launched an Orlando chapter with Ali Goodin and Caroline Bennett. Since February, they hosted 7 events! Both Ali and Caroline have had an influx in their workload and needed someone else to take over as the main co-lead. They communicated this and introduced me to their new co-lead, Alexa Cabel, who since has been onboarded and handed torch to be the main lead for this chapter. Ali posted an incredible update on LinkedIn about how she met Alexa through the chapter and has handed off the community for Alexa to drive. Here is the link to the post.
Such an amazing example of leaving the chapter better than when you found it and leaving it for someone else to keep the momemtum going!
Thank you Ali + Caroline for all you've done! As we always say, 'you may not be a chapter lead forever, but you are a community member forever!' Alexa, we're so excited to see where you take things and we've got your back! This is what co-creating a better world of work looks like!
Recent Chapter Lead Learnings
So many incredible events and conferences occurred in North America earlier this month and last month which our chapter leads attended. This included Culture Summit and the Culture First Leaders Forum (in NYC + SF).
Some chapter leads got together during one of our leads check-in calls to share their recently learnings. Some of those learnings were captured in the document below. We wanted to share these with those that weren't able to attend.
