Billie Eilish uses her ability of creating music, by making songs that speak on her life experiences with everyday problems that her audience can relate to. Some topics she sings about are eating disorders, a lot of toxicity within relationships , drug addiction, and suicide. This project focuses on five of her songs: Not My Responsibility, Happier Than Ever, Your Power, TV, and Xanny, and we take a closer look at the lyrics and what she means within them.
"Some of the people that I know that listen to Billie Eilish mentioned how they like that they can relate to the things she sings about, and it helps them cope with it."
My name is Adrian Jimenez and I am a Junior here at Lane. I created this project from an inspiration on a past Women in Lit project about an artist, as well. I chose this topic, because I feel that Eilish has a great way of cultivating current world/every day problems that people experience. Also I mean, come on, it's Billie Eilish. One of the youngest Oscar award winners, started music at a really young age and actually made it far.
