For my Women in Lit project, I decided to make my topic in regards to the beauty standards and expectations associated with women during different eras throughout time. I was fascinated with the extents women went through in order to fit this ideal beauty standard that was expected of them, which is why I decided to receive more information on the topic as well as bring light that every body should be valued as perfection. As someone who grew up with social media, I have been constantly exposed to these individuals who seemed to have the "perfect body", when in reality, it was nothing but cosmetic surgeries and Photoshop. Yet, people view these photos and think negatively about themselves and feel the need to change something about their appearance. Which I believe that everyone should feel comfortable within their own bodies without the need to alter their appearance. Love yourself.
