This ASA is for students who are new to coding. We will use a website called Tynker.org to learn block coding. We will solve challenges and create our own simple games. 

Idioms and Phrasal Verbs

Let's learn and practice using idiomatic expressions in speaking and writing. Students will then make an idioms booklet at the end of the session. Light snacks will be served.

After a long day at school, it's time to relax! Stop by the Interest Center to enjoy a yummy snack, listen to a great story, and then, if we still have time, even get to PLAY together. I love to read great books to kids, and I love to play. I'm looking forward to doing those things with you!

Use different strategies, high thinking skills and learn sportsmanship while having fun through board games. Choose your game! You can build and rebuild with Jenga; conquer your opponent's territory in checkers and chess; outsmart your partner in Topple, Connect 4 and Make 7; or try to get rich playing Monopoly. 

Veggie Tales

Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are an unlikely duo in a world of talking vegetables. The two friends learn about honesty, kindness, and forgiveness together -- and Larry always has a silly song to sing. In this ASA, we would talk about stories from the Bible (through Veggie Tales videos) and how we can apply biblical character to our daily lives, while coloring and having snack together. *By signing for this ASA, you are acknowledging that your child will be learning about God in the Bible.* It's going to be so much fun!

It is believed that origami benefits the developments of hand co-ordination, sequencing skills, attention skills, patience, math reasoning and many more.
