Welcoming Juilliard to Colegio Menor
What You Need to Know
From Thursday, October 2nd to Saturday, October 4th, our Fine Arts teachers will be participating in a very special professional opportunity with Juilliard. Because of this, there will be no Fine Arts classes on Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday only, the 6th grade Drama, Dance, and Choir electives will take place at their usual times. These will be used as observation classes. All other Fine Arts electives will be suspended.
Also happening on Thursday morning, we will welcome the Juilliard team with an honor walk (calle de honor). The grade participating in this special welcome is 7th grade, since they have electives first thing in the morning. Here is exactly what will happen: teachers will first receive their students in the classroom and take attendance. After that, teachers will walk with their students to the soccer field. Students will line up on both sides (the court and the bleachers) to form the welcome path as our guests make their way to the PAC. We will send more details soon.
Because Fine Arts classes will be suspended on Thursday and Friday, we will need to sign up for a time slot to work with students during their regularly scheduled elective periods. We will explain how this will work on Monday.
Thank you very much for your flexibility and support. This is a truly exciting and unique opportunity for our Fine Arts colleagues, and your help makes it possible for us to celebrate this moment together as a school.
Celebrating Moments That Matter
Every week brings small moments that leave a lasting impact, a student’s breakthrough, a kind gesture, or a colleague’s support. These moments remind us that teaching is not just about lessons, but about lives. Let’s continue to pause, notice, and celebrate them, because they are what build the culture of joy and connection at Colegio Menor.

Please take a moment to watch Rita Pierson’s “Every Kid Needs a Champion”, a short and powerful 7-minute talk that reminds us of the difference we make when we show students that they truly matter.
