Upcoming Medical Department Meeting – Important Information for MS Teachers

Next week, the Medical Department will be holding a meeting with us to review key guidelines related to student health and safety. The purpose of this meeting is to provide clarity and ensure consistency around the following topics:

• Health care protocols and appropriate use of the infirmary (Manchester system).

• Correct use of passes, including the expectation of one pass per student at a time.

• Warning signs that require first aid support and the appropriate referral to the infirmary.

In addition, the Medical Department has updated part of its protocol to include the following:

• Our Middle School office will be responsible for the emergency kangaroo kit that may support students with minor injuries or conditions (such as small wounds, use of bandages, wipes, masks, etc.). In these cases, teachers may allow the student to come to the office so Gaby and Caro can provide the necessary supplies so that the student can properly clean or care for themselves.

• For students who require frequent or repetitive medical attention, parents will be contacted immediately after the first visit in order to inform them of the frequency of care being provided.

This meeting will help ensure we are all aligned in supporting student wellbeing while following clear and consistent procedures. Please make sure to attend one of the two options during lunch on Wednesday and Thursday. It is a mandatory session and you can attend according to your patio duty schedule. 

Peer Observations Meeting 

To get ready, teachers are asked to complete the following steps:

1. Review the ELEOT presentation from last year to refresh key concepts.

2. Complete this form indicating:

   • The areas you want to focus on for your professional growth.

   • The colleagues you would like to observe during this cycle.

Your selections will help ensure that the experience is meaningful, intentional, and aligned to your goals.

• Didactic concert featuring Band students (percussion, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and trombone), Strings (violin and cello), and Guitar - Jan. 12

• 8th Grade Strings performance (during their 2nd block period only for students registered in these classes) - Jan. 13

• 7th Grade Strings performance (during their 1st block period only for students registered in these classes) - Jan. 14

• Beauty and the Beast Jr. dress rehearsal (only for students participating in the play) - Jan. 15 at 11 am * outside audience invited to the event (Fundación Reina de Quito students, Menor 3rd graders, Carlos Aguilar Public School students)

• Exam Submission- Jan 16th

• MS Exams Review Week - Jan. 19th - 23rd

• Drama Ensemble performance at Festival Colegio Einstein -  Jan. 20th

• G Block performance at Festival Colegio Einstein - Jan. 23rd

• MS Semester Exams (half day) - Jan. 26th – 29th * Friendly reminder that students who are participating in the Beauty and the Beast play have non-negotiable mandatory accommodations that Vale will share with you all *

• Juntas (students do not attend school) - Jan 30th
