Celebrating Moments That Matter
Celebrating Moments That Matter
This week we want to recognize the incredible work and collaboration that continues to make our Middle School team so special.
A big shout-out to Rafa and Ana Ma for the tremendous effort they put into creating the new 6th grade schedules. This was no small task, building the schedules by hand required patience, attention to detail, and a great deal of coordination.
Rafa also ensured that all the information was properly entered into iSams, while Henry supported the process by checking that Health classes aligned and made sense with the many changes involved. It was truly a team effort, and we are very proud of the huge task they accomplished.
We would also like to recognize Gwen for the thoughtful preparation she left in place when taking her personal day. It was wonderful to see how organized and intentional she was in preparing her sub plans and classroom materials, making sure everything was clear and ready for someone stepping into the class.
This level of preparation we found ready in her class reflects both care for students and consideration for colleagues, and it sets a great example for all of us.
Moments like these remind us how fortunate we are to work alongside such a dedicated and supportive team.

As part of our ongoing work with metacognition and our Middle School practices, we invite you to try using the Name –Describe – Act routine this month. This thinking routine is a great way to help students slow down, notice, and begin to make meaning as they are introduced to new ideas or concepts.
If you use the routine in your classes, please remember to take a few photos and send them to Vale. We’d love to capture and celebrate the great learning happening across Middle School!

The email sent by Moni and Caro:
As we reach the midpoint of the school year, this is an important moment to pause, reflect, and realign #We Collaborate with Empathy.
Our Mid‑Year Review is more than a requirement, it’s a meaningful opportunity to think intentionally about our progress, the impact of our work, and the goals we want to focus on for the months ahead.
Back in September, we set our Annual Goals in SuccessFactors. Now is the time to look honestly at where we are:
What has worked well?
What adjustments would help us move forward?
How can we continue supporting one another and our students?
These conversations matter #We Communicate with Impact. They help us strengthen connections, make thoughtful decisions #We Make Considered Decisions, adapt when needed #We Embrace Change, and keep growing together #We Drive Growth, always with our students' experience at the center.
Please complete your Mid‑Year Review by Friday, March 27th. Your line manager will schedule a 1:1 conversation to discuss your progress by Friday, April 24th.
If you have any questions, feel free to use our Performance Review Guide.
Thank you for your dedication and for continuing to bring your best every day. Let’s make the most of this moment to reflect, learn, and move forward with clarity and purpose.
Starting soon... Don't forget to sign-up if interested.
We are currently working on clear guidelines regarding discipline and the use of technology (devices) in the classroom.
Thank you Luisa and Ana for signing up! If anyone else wants to be a part of this (mostly) asynchronous work contact me.
If you are interested in participating in a committee that will review this information and help develop guidelines to guide and regulate the use of technology in the classroom, please let us know. (This does not apply to cell phones, as there is already a clear policy in place.)
