Celebrating Moments That Matter
Celebrating Moments That Matter
This week, we want to recognize the incredible teamwork that made our MAP testing sessions run so smoothly. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the process by proctoring, guiding students, and ensuring that each session ran with care and attention. Your calm presence and collaboration created the conditions our students needed to do their best.
A special shout-out to Vale, who took the lead in organizing every detail behind the scenes. From coordinating schedules and sessions to arranging proctors and making sure everything was aligned, she truly went the extra mile to ensure that the entire process ran smoothly. Vale, your leadership, dedication, and attention to detail made all the difference. Thank you for carrying so much of this work with such care.
We want to recognize Jeff and Henry, who were constantly moving behind the scenes, checking in, troubleshooting, and making sure everything was set for both students and teachers. Your readiness to jump in wherever needed made a huge difference and kept everything running seamlessly.
Finally a big thank you to Amir and Mau, who truly went out of their way to support everyone during testing. Your willingness to step in, assist colleagues, and ensure that no one felt alone in the process reflects the very best of what our Middle School team represents.
Moments like these remind us that the strength of our community lies not only in what we accomplish, but in how we show up for one another. Thank you all for the care, professionalism, and teamwork you bring every day.

My Role and Purpose in Classroom Management 2.0
Access the Feb 13th PD discipline presentation in this link.
Before our second session on Wednesday, please take a few minutes to watch the following video: The Power of a Teacher - Adam Saenz. It is a powerful reminder that the words we choose, the conversations we have, and the messages we send to students and families can have a lasting impact on how students see themselves and their learning.
As you watch, reflect on how our communication can reinforce students’ strengths, build trust, and support a positive classroom environment.

If you have any questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out to Valen.
As part of our ongoing work with metacognition and our Middle School practices, we invite you to try using the Name –Describe – Act routine this month. This thinking routine is a great way to help students slow down, notice, and begin to make meaning as they are introduced to new ideas or concepts.
If you use the routine in your classes, please remember to take a few photos and send them to Vale. We’d love to capture and celebrate the great learning happening across Middle School!
