We have sent out the first day of school information to parents, so they are all set. You will receive a copy of that email as well, so you have access to all the information we shared with them. 

A quick note about language in our interactions: as I shared this morning, I will be speaking English only. I truly appreciate your support in this, as it allows us to model language expectations for students. Our goal is not only for students to hear us speaking English in the classroom, but also to provide consistent opportunities for them to practice and strengthen their speaking and listening skills, an essential part of their learning journey. 

Friendly reminder to review your supply lists and communicate any missing items so we can support you. At the same time, please keep in mind what resources you’ll need at the end of the school year so we can plan accordingly. 

Also, I will let you know soon when we will hold our one-to-one meetings, after which I’ll start classroom observations (not during the first two weeks of school). Valen will begin next week. Please remember that I will be walking through classrooms frequently, my goal is to learn about student dynamics and to be approachable and accessible. And as I mentioned, please keep our little secret… I may sometimes be “hiding” from Valen, Rafa, and Gaby, so please don’t share my location.

Great news: no meetings will be held in the afternoons this first week! Use this time to decompress, set up, and ensure everything is ready for the next day.
