METACOGNITION WEEK 24
The annual student surveys for the NAE Metacognition Research Project are now live!
These surveys are crucial to the project and will serve as the first data point in the longitudinal study that launched this past September. As a flagship school, we also receive school-specific reports that help us with internal decision-making and external evaluations. Surveys must the taken this week suring Metacognition block (by March 6th)
Please provide the survey to all students. It is recommended to provide class or CT time to ensure full participation. The student survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Please note, there is a short video embedded into the student survey, so headphones might be helpful.
Students will be prompted to select their school, year/grade and name, they will then be asked to select the number shown in the ‘number’ box. They don’t need to know this number; it will be used for research purposes only. Once selected, they will be able to move on to the next section.

INMERSO EXPERIENCE
Dear 4th and 5th Grade Teachers,
I’m excited to share something important that we will be experiencing together on March 3rd.
Our school will be hosting INMERSO at the PAC, an immersive and experiential program focused on empathy, awareness, and bullying prevention. This will be a different and powerful experience for our community, and you will play a key role in making it meaningful.
INMERSO is not a traditional workshop or lecture. It is a guided, sensory experience designed to invite reflection, build perspective, and strengthen our shared commitment to creating a safe and respectful school environment.
Schedule
For this special event, break time and logistics will be adjusted.
9:30 - 9:55 Break will take place in the big soccer field. All Homeroom teachers should accompany their class, eat a snack at the soccer bleachers as a class, and monitor the soccer field area. Students are to stay on this area only.
10:00am - 11:15am INMERSO experience at the PAC (4th, 5th & 6th). At 10am students should be ready sitting down at the PAC. Help ensure smooth and punctual transitions so each group can have the full experience. Lunchboxes should be placed at the PAC's Lobby in an organized manner by class.
Before the Session
We encourage you to:
· Frame this as a meaningful and reflective activity.
· Reinforce expectations around respect and participation.
· Remind students that this is a safe space designed for growth and awareness.
Your engagement will set the tone. When students see their teachers participating fully, the impact becomes significantly stronger.
Your Role
You will not attend as observers, you will actively participate alongside your students.
During certain parts of the session, both students and teachers will have their eyes covered as part of the immersive process. This is intentional and essential to the experience, as it encourages reflection, trust, and awareness.
Our counselors will be the only ones not blindfolded. They will remain attentive throughout the session to ensure that everyone feels safe and to provide immediate support if any student needs assistance.
4TH & 5TH GRAD PLAYGROUND
*NEW UPDATE*

Biweekly "class days" led by Homeroom teachers at the basketball courts.
2 duty spots based on the corresponding playground.
Updated 4th grade socces schedule.
Full logistics found in the DUTIES document. There is a tab for 4th and a tab for 5th grade.
