Celebrating Moments That Matter
Celebrating Moments That Matter
This week, we would like to recognize and appreciate Sylvi for taking the time to write a thoughtful and reflective email to a student and her family after gathering and reflecting on their feedback following report cards during her CT. Her willingness to listen with care and respond with intention reflects the strength of the relationships we strive to build with our students and families. Actions like these foster trust, reinforce partnership, and remind us that meaningful communication can have a lasting impact on a student’s sense of belonging and growth.
We also want to celebrate the everyday moments that make our team so special, including the way we connect and support one another through our WhatsApp group. Whether it’s making someone laugh at just the right time, sharing a meaningful reflection, or simply being there for each other, these interactions reflect the genuine care and connection that define our Middle School community.
I feel incredibly proud to belong to a team like this. The meaningful connections we continue to nurture are what make our work not only impactful, but deeply human.

Progress Assessments
The rubric is now available on Canvas for everyone to use. Please make sure to download the template from Commons. Here is Keith’s tutorial on how to do so.
Remember to download the template for both P3 and P4, ensuring that the P4 version is set with a 0% weight.
We will also review any questions or doubts during our staff meeting on Wednesday.
A message from Vale regarding Winter MAP assessments:
As you know, Winter MAP assessments will take place next week. Please review the following guidelines to ensure we are aligned on procedures and expectations:
Testing Locations: All MAP tests will be administered in classrooms. A proctoring schedule, similar to the one used during semester exams, has been created.
Sessions: All testing sessions have already been set up. You simply need to locate the corresponding session name and start it.
Makeups – Block 6:
Monday: Students who do not finish their Reading MAP will continue during Block 6 in the OVEN.
Wednesday: Students who do not finish their Math or Language MAPs will also go to the OVEN during Block 6 to complete them.
Tuesday: NO Makeup time, due to Inmerso
Additional Makeup Time: Students who are still not done after Monday and Wednesday’s allotted makeup time will continue on Thursday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Student Communication: All of this information will be shared with students on Friday and reviewed again on Monday during CT.
As part of our ongoing work with metacognition and our Middle School practices, we invite you to try using the Name –Describe – Act routine this month. This thinking routine is a great way to help students slow down, notice, and begin to make meaning as they are introduced to new ideas or concepts.
If you use the routine in your classes, please remember to take a few photos and send them to Vale. We’d love to capture and celebrate the great learning happening across Middle School!

INMERSO
Our school will be hosting INMERSO at the PAC, an immersive and experiential program focused on empathy, awareness, and bullying prevention. This will be a different and powerful experience for our community, and you will play a key role in making it meaningful.
INMERSO is not a traditional workshop or lecture. It is a guided, sensory experience designed to invite reflection, build perspective, and strengthen our shared commitment to creating a safe and respectful school environment.
Your Role: You will not attend as observers, you will actively participate alongside your students.
During certain parts of the session, both students and teachers will have their eyes covered as part of the immersive process. This is intentional and essential to the experience, as it encourages reflection, trust, and awareness.
Our counselors will be the only ones not blindfolded. They will remain attentive throughout the session to ensure that everyone feels safe and to provide immediate support if any student needs assistance.
Schedule: Please plan to have your group seated by the starting time, so we can start on time
· Group 1: 4th, 5th & 6th grade – 10:00 am to 11:15 am
· Group 2: 7th, 8th & 9th grade – 11:30 am to 12:45 pm
· Group 3: 10th, 11th & 12th grade – 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm
Please accompany your students to the PAC and help ensure smooth and punctual transitions so each group can have the full experience.
Before the Session we encourage you to:
· Framing this as a meaningful and reflective activity.
· Reinforcing expectations around respect and participation.
· Reminding them that this is a safe space designed for growth and awareness.
Additional reminders discussed during staff meeting:
First come, first serve
Please look into the designated seating included below
6th Grade rows A-E
8th Grade rows G - H and J - K (no one seats in row I)
7th grade rows M - N - O and Q - R (no one seats in row
There 15 mins in between sessions, please be mindful of supporting students to get in and out of the PAC.
Show up on time and in order
6th grade will have their break inside the classroom
7th and 8th grade will have an additional 10 minutes for lunch
Your engagement will set the tone. When students see their teachers participating fully, the impact becomes significantly stronger.
Thank you in advance for your collaboration and professionalism as we bring this important experience to our community.
