Dear Team,
What a great week we have shared together. It is exciting to see all of our students getting into the routine of a new school year, and seeing how you strengthen bonds and create a positive community of learners.
One of this week's highlight has been seeing our students learning about the brain and metacognition. Scavenger hunts, cracking codes and fun centers have been at the core of students' learning experiences so far. Keep up the meaningful and student-centered learning happening!
Have a great weekend,
Moni & Marga

BOY CHECKLIST
Beggining of the Year Checklist:
As shared during Pre-Service, the BOY checklist is due Friday September 12th. You can print or make an online copy, you are to check all items completed and uploaded to the 25-26 Staff Development spreadsheet.
The most important item is that all your students should have received the first "nice to know email" with a picture. Make sure to add a check box to confirm you have completed this. HERE
EXTENSION* Wednesday Sept 17th.
HOME PRACTICE: IXL & READING PLANS
During Orientation sessions Moni shared with parents the importance of practice at home to unlock students academic potential. Parents know that teachers will assign reading and IXL practice. These home practices will be graded (One formative grade reading average, one formative grade IXL use average).
Please submit your plans for Reading practice and IXL practice. Think about the days you will assign, how will you keep students accountable, and how will you communicate this to families (next week tops).
It is important that all grade-levels are aligned between teams (LA / Math / Spanish) to avoid saturating practice the same day. For example: do not assign IXL grammar and IXL math practice the same day.
SHARE PLANS HERE. Deadline: Wednesday Sept 17th.
