Grade 4: Termly Reflection
A Whirlwind of a First Term!
What an incredible start to the year it has been for our Grade 4s! Entering the Senior Primary is a big step, and we are so proud of how our learners have embraced the "big school" life.
The beginning of the year brought a lot of changes. There was a new timetable to master, new teachers to meet, and the excitement of finally wearing the Greys uniform. Even the later lunch break was an adjustment, but our children settled in beautifully. It wasn’t long before they were navigating the SP campus with ease and confidence, moving between classrooms like pros! A special welcome goes out to our new friends who joined the Clifton family this term, it has been wonderful getting to know you and seeing new friendships blossom.
One of the absolute highlights of the term has been our Farmlands project. The Grade 4s have been busy getting their hands dirty, planting cabbages, tomatoes, chives, and many other goodies. We are all eagerly waiting for the harvest so we can start our market day sales (though we suspect a few "secret" snacks might happen in the garden first!). We also had some very fluffy visitors, the arrival of our chickens was a massive hit! The chicks spent the day in the classrooms, getting plenty of cuddles and getting used to being held by their new guardians.
We celebrated Super Science Day by becoming naval engineers. The children built boats powered by elastic bands and headed to the pool for some high-speed racing. There was plenty of cheering (and a little bit of splashing) as we put our designs to the test!
Another heart-warming moment was our Grandparents and Special Persons Day. It was such a treat to have our loved ones on campus to watch the Grade 4 play. The children performed with such heart, and the smiles in the audience said it all.
As we wrap up the term, we want to congratulate every child on their growth. You have adjusted to a faster pace, learned to study for assessments, and taken real responsibility for your belongings. Watching you learn to organise your "little worlds" has been a highlight for all the teachers.
Well done on a stellar Term 1, Grade 4s! We can’t wait to see what adventures Term 2 holds for us.
