The Busy Little Bees: Our Term 1 Tale
The sun is up, the day is new, there’s so much for a little Bee to do. With tiny wings and happy feet, our classroom buzz is such a treat.
In Fantasy, we wear a crown or build a tower and knock it down. In art, we splash and paint and glue, learning about red and yellow too.

Easter Fun in the Pre-School
This morning, on 26 March, the Pre-School was abuzz with excitement as the Easter Bunny paid a surprise visit to our campus. In a delightful twist of events, it appears that the Easter Bunny accidentally hopped into Mrs. Robertson’s pink powder paint, which had been left open by Mrs. Kelland. The result was a trail of bunny paw prints, strategically placed along the paths leading to the Bees, Shongololos, Fireflies, Frogs, and Chameleons' classrooms, and even on the Jungle Gym!
One of the crowning moments of the term was our first class bus trip to That South African Place! Our day began with crafty cup decorating for our cooldrinks using colourful stickers. We then combined our efforts as Mrs Sliedrecht showed us how to carefully mix icing sugar for decorating our treats. We even closely examined a Kenwood mixer, chatted about where butter comes from, and practised counting and comparing while measuring with cups and spoons.
A Taste of Tradition: Grade 3 Explores the Wonders of China
Our Grade 3 classrooms recently transformed into a vibrant hub of international discovery! As part of our ongoing journey across the continents, with a special focus on the diverse landscapes of China and Brazil, our children stepped away from their desks and into the rich, flavorful world of Chinese culture.
Wednesday was no ordinary day at school, it was a vibrant, chirping celebration of our feathered friends! The Grade 2s arrived with soaring spirits, transformed into a stunning flock of South African birds. From the elegant pink of the Flamingo to the majestic African Fish Eagle and the clever Fork-tailed Drongo, our playground was filled with a kaleidoscope of colour and excitement. It was a wonderful sight to see our boys and girls bring their bird inquiry theme to life with such creative costumes and infectious energy.
On Thursday, 5 March, the Grade 1 children arrived at school with bags packed and excitement in the air, ready to embark on their very first Clifton overnight adventure. For many, this was their first night away from home, and it is fair to say that the butterflies were shared by both parents and children alike.
Our Clifton Champs set off with bright smiles and bubbling excitement as they climbed onto the buses bound for Notties Farm. On arrival, the warm and friendly camp staff made everyone feel welcome, and any nervous butterflies quickly disappeared.
On Thursday, 12 February, the Grade 3 classes brought their exploration of Brazil, and the journey of chocolate from cocoa tree to delicious treat, vividly to life through a meaningful experiential outing. Living out our commitment to inspiring personal accomplishment through rich, hands-on learning, the Clifton champs visited Chocolate Heaven at The Junction for a chocolate-dipping experience that was both joyful and memorable.
On 2 February, the Grade 3s set off for their first camp of the year at Greystone, brimming with excitement, and, naturally, a few nerves. The journey marked the start of a new adventure, one that would inspire curiosity, courage, and a sense of community.
