Fireflies & Shongololos: Termly Reflection

What a magical first term this has been! It has been heartwarming to see how quickly the Shongololos and Fireflies have settled, forming friendships, gaining confidence, and embracing the joy of learning through play.

The adventure and ecitement of the Valentine’s Day market is always a highlight for the children, learning about what thier money can buy and what treats they can choose from. We are always grateful for our helpful vultuneer-mums who help our little ones navigate this day. Another highlight included watching the Drakensberg Boy’s Choir perform in our chapel, their booming voices and catchy beats making the children’s heads bob and feet tap along to their wonderful rhythm. 

This term, we have focused on sparking curiosity and storytelling among the children. We have stimulated language and literacy development through songs, new vocabulary and stories, and it has been wonderful to see their confidence in communication grow. In addition, we have started our journey into early numeracy, learning to count, recognizing numbers, and developing a love for patterns and problem-solving.
