Scales Up Close

Acrylic on canvas (series of 2), 15.5 x 8 inches

This artwork shows the beauty of fish scales. I mimicked yellowfin tuna, and mahi mahi scales on each piece. The reason why I wanted to paint something like this is because I want other people to see the real beauty of fish, which is something that people usually don't really take much mind to. I did this artwork as a series of two paintings. I painted each work using a palette knife, which creates the scale like texture.
