Incognito
Mixed Media (acrylic, found objects, and paper mache), 45.6 x 61.1 cm
Incognito, inspired by Edward Hopper’s “Compartment C, Car 293” depicts isolation. I recreated this piece in the context of social media, where the woman takes a social media “cleanse”, hence she is reading a book on the train. But the woman is oblivious to the fact that social media still follows her around even if she is not exactly using it, represented by the eyes fixated on her. These days, we can never be incognito because of how society has become attached to social media.
