Identity

One’s identity is unique to themselves. Growing up in the Philippines my entire life, it is the only thing I’ve ever known. As I will be leaving my home upon graduation, this piece is a reminder to my identity/who I truly am. The piece depicts a photo of myself, wearing and surrounded by colors and elements of my national flag. The filipino word ‘Kahit’ is written across my eyes, along with images of a moon and sun, to signify “Kahit araw o gabi, Pilipino ako” (Even day or night, I’m Filipino).
