Too Big a Gap

Re-purposed wood and Lego mounted on concrete, 40 x 16 x 12 inches

This piece emphasizes the gap between the rich and the poor in many places, such as Cebu, my hometown. The Lego figures on the cement represent those in lower classes and the houses high up on the branch represent the higher classes. The tall branch separates and shows the disparity as there is nothing in the middle. The bottom is very distant from those on top and that it could be an objective to narrow that gap. However, it takes a collective effort from both parties to make this a reality.
