Youth

Watercolor and ink on Archés Paper, 9 x 6 inches

Inspired by a series of childhood pictures, I wanted to create a piece that reflects my perspective on youth. When looking back on memories of my childhood, it feels like a blur between dream and reality, which explains the use of baby blue and clouds as the background. The subjects are based on a photo of my older sister and I. Which was chosen because it clearly exhibits my relationship with my sister, and expresses the idea of the dependence and purity of the youth from the way I lean on her.
