Ignorance

Coloured pencil on paper, 16 x 20 Inches

It’s a common psychological belief that humans are active processors of information. Meaning we get to decide what we want to focus and what to turn a blind eye to. Strangely, society is built around the privilege of comfort. As individuals, we get to choose to ignore issues that hold much more significant weight than ourselves— as long as it doesn’t interfere with our own being. This then poses two contrasting implications, are we ignorant based on lacking proper information? Or are we simply selfish by nature?
