Confusing Squares

String, nails, acrylic on panel board, 20 x 20 inches

This piece is meant to express motion through the arrangement of strings. The longer the time spent looking at it, the more confusing it can get due to the various layers. Viewers are meant to question the manner of arrangement of the strings and the intention of the piece. However, in deciphering the intent of the work, viewers will fail to see the center where a diamond is situated. The diamond represents life and how we tend to fixate on some things and lose track of our aspirations.
