Counterfeit

Consumerism & marketing are topics that I invested my time on learning about, due to my EE. Part of this is the counterfeit industry. As the consumers’ values on what is relevant changes, most would do whatever it takes to get their hands on these branded items. To portray this, I painted an imitation of “Comme des Garçon”, the famous heart with eyes logo. These logos and worn out shoes give an ‘non-authentic’ element. This artwork was influenced by 'Vice News: We went To The Fake Sneaker Capital of China (HBO)'.
